Acumatica Cloud ERP 2017 R2 and Beyond.

Acumatica announced some of the key features making its way into the product with the release of 2017 R2 and future 2018 releases.
We are excited to see new release with more features in the new version 2017 R2
1. Usability - Advanced user interface, improved search, pre-defined dashboards, list entry points, mobile UI enhancements, redesigned approval maps
2. Project Accounting -  Overhauled with new budget structure, commitment tracking, Pro Forma Invoices, flexible billing workflow and rate configuration
3. Distribution - Product class trees, Unit of measure, advanced drop ships, Amazon integration FBA, allocation engine and UPS/Fedex Ship-It integration
4. Financials - Historical transaction migration, multi-level payment approvals, on-demand statements, PCI ready, Third party A/P payments and Vendor tax periods
5. CRM - Advanced marketing list, Campaign management, Opportunity stage mgmt and real time Salesforce Sync
6. Field Services - Integrated fields service, advanced equipment tracking, automated contract appointments, multi-location contracts and Bing maps integration
7. Technology improvements - Expanded web services end-points, OpenAPI 2.0 and Swagger standards, External applications and tokenized authentication, Push notifications and real-time GPS framework

New User Interface Frameset

A brand new look for upcoming version either in 2017 R2 or 2018 Summit, the new interface lets the user navigate much quicker and the most intriguing feature you can now customize your menu options.
Top left corner gets the space for your logo and the top level Suite navigation is removed and pushed to the left side and the search is moved up to give a clean look.

The center of the page is where all the action happens, this allows to be viewed across all devices and screen sizes with responsive design in place.
The navigation lets Partners, Customers or users manage themselves what's most important screens to expose, you can now easily manage across the company or at user level.

Acumatica Snapshots - Uploading and restoring large files

In Acumatica ERP, you can create company snapshots containing your company’s full or partial data. Snapshots that can be saved locally in the same database, or at a specified location. You can import and restore snapshot to another company, in this case test company, it's pretty handy tool very useful during implementations, customization and support/troubleshooting while you work with data. You will occasionally run into few technical issues with snapshots, the newer version now needs you to keep all users logged out and in maintenance mode to take snapshot, link to blog article here. Today we are going to discuss how to export and import snapshots which are larger in file size of above 1GB, this is not a limitation from Acumatica and more to do with constraint and default value set in IIS (Internet Information Server). Acumatica User Defined Fields/Values - UDF using attributes in 2018 R2

In 2018 R2 version Acumatica introduced new feature called "User Defined fields" in short UDF's. These fields allow users to configure existing document screens to capture custom data per document basis. New features like this really helps partner/customer to configure business workflow process, this capability built on a framework can now enhance existing documents like Sales order, purchase order or other document to collect custom data at transaction level using attributes.
