Future of eCommerce and ERP integration - iPaaS, Acumatica-Celigo integration

The future of integration with e-Commerce and ERP systems is about to change, with low code or low customization and no IT team required to process those web orders into your ERP system.

We are experiencing the latest technology growth of RESTful API web services. With multi-cloud environment, Cloud ERP companies like Acumatica can take advantage of integrating e-Commerce vendors like Shopify, BIG commerce, Magneto, 3D Cart and other hundreds of shopping cart solutions with API integration.

Solving The Problem

In cloud environment how do we scale e-Commerce business? Imagine you have a new e-Commerce vendor offering very specific features to your line of business which is compelling to use their platform to sell your products/services with either B2C or B2B channel, your e-Commerce team gets started by launching the website meanwhile we still need to figure out how to get those web orders into our ERP system/Order management system so we can avoid duplicate order entry system, which wastes many hours of manual labor, and is very inefficient or you may have export/import scenarios or developer intensified web integration.

How we solved the problem? 

We identified this problem with our client and chose Celigo, a multi-cloud integrator. We worked with their team to evaluate the API's and their iPaaS solution that they had to offer to partner's like us, enabling us to build a more rich order integration with Acumatica and BrightStores. BrightStores, is a promotional product software solutions serving customers in apparel and promotional industry.


Over the next few weeks we learned Celigo's integrator platform and integrated for our client Kevin's Worldwide Acumatica instance and their BrightStores eCommerce, their instance was the first Acumatica integration with Celigo's solution.
We now have a complete eCommerce solution allowing us to bring down web orders into Acumatica via REST API's. Celigo allows us to define our order processing rules for contacts, shipping address and even managing Canadian tax rules too.
Within Celigo integrator app you can define field-mapping to exposed API fields, calls and handlebar expressions, here is code snippet of assigning customer location ID field value.

Acumatica Snapshots - Uploading and restoring large files

In Acumatica ERP, you can create company snapshots containing your company’s full or partial data. Snapshots that can be saved locally in the same database, or at a specified location. You can import and restore snapshot to another company, in this case test company, it's pretty handy tool very useful during implementations, customization and support/troubleshooting while you work with data. You will occasionally run into few technical issues with snapshots, the newer version now needs you to keep all users logged out and in maintenance mode to take snapshot, link to blog article here. Today we are going to discuss how to export and import snapshots which are larger in file size of above 1GB, this is not a limitation from Acumatica and more to do with constraint and default value set in IIS (Internet Information Server). Acumatica User Defined Fields/Values - UDF using attributes in 2018 R2

In 2018 R2 version Acumatica introduced new feature called "User Defined fields" in short UDF's. These fields allow users to configure existing document screens to capture custom data per document basis. New features like this really helps partner/customer to configure business workflow process, this capability built on a framework can now enhance existing documents like Sales order, purchase order or other document to collect custom data at transaction level using attributes.
